For some unknown reason the weather was perfect, a light North/North Easterly breeze to start with and a beautiful sunny day. The race started with six boats crossing the start line, some faster than others: Karibia Breezes, Kim, Pantaleon, Rush, Sarva, Tynesman.
Rush took an early lead and held that position to the end. Karibia Breezes took up second position followed by Kim, Tynesman and Sarva. Kim did well on the inside and Tynesman made good way after an initial wrestling match with her cruising chute. Panteleon had a good start but failed to find the mark. Sarva rounded the mark but ran into the foul tide and the call of the St Patrick's night celebrations so both these boats retired.
The final result at the end of a great day's sail was:-
1st - Rush
2nd - Karibia Breezes
3rd- Kim
4th - Tynesman
